Watkinsville, Georgia – Effective immediately and until further notice, City Hall will discontinue all public access to City Hall. This is in a continued effort to flatten the curve on the COVID-19 virus and do our part to ensure the health and safety of our staff and visitors.
City staff will continue to be available to the public via phone and email work to answer questions and provide assistance. A collection bin will be available outside the entrance to City Hall during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) for anyone needing to drop off plans, permit applications, or other paperwork. Citizens are encouraged to use the available online services to renew business licenses, pay municipal fines, access and/or complete plans review and/or building permit applications, or report any other concerns. Visit www.cityofwatkinsville.com to access these online services.
Watkinsville will continue to communicate its ongoing efforts regarding COVID-19 through its Facebook page and website; providing updates and resources as they become available.
Following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the City continues to urge those who are at highest risk of contracting the virus – including residents 60 years and older, those with underling health issues, and/or compromised immune systems – to please stay at home.
The city greatly appreciates the support received from the citizens and community, as the city is having to make difficult decisions based on what is in the best interest of everyone within the community. Any inquiries regarding this change may be made to City Manager Sharyn Dickerson via phone at 706-614-9991 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
