Watkinsville City Hall Reopening Plan

Watkinsville City Hall Reopening Plan

  1. All measures currently in place will stay in place through Wednesday, May 13th.

  2. On Thursday, May 14th, all city employees should return to work on their pre-virus schedules, unless otherwise directed.

  3. All city facilities shall stay closed to customers until at least May 22nd. Everything possible should be done online through the city website or by appointment until then. If it is absolutely necessary to interact with a customer, do so outside, and maintain more than 6 feet distance.

  4. From May 20th until May 31st:
    • Entrance for the general public will strictly be through the front door only at City Hall.
    • Entrants must wear face masks/protection as will staff during the interaction.
    • Social distancing rules shall be strictly enforced.
  5. At no time, shall more than 10 people be gathered inside City Hall at one time.

  6. The pavilions at Harris Shoals Park shall remain closed (i.e.: not rented) until at least May 31st.   We will evaluate the situation during the last week of May to see if this should be extended or modified.   Parks may be used for walking per the present guidelines until then.   No events will be allowed to be held in the park until after June 12.  (Reference Governor’s Executive Order 04.30.20).

  7. The City of Watkinsville shall continue to follow good social distancing and sanitary rules indefinitely.  A list of those rules will be circulated and must be enforced, and posted prominently in your workspaces.

  8. The Municipal Court Clerk will work with Judge Samuels on the schedule for the resumption of City Court in July, per order from the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia to extend a statewide judicial emergency through June 12th.

  9. All City Council meetings for May will be held through the remote system we are currently using.
