Parks - Rentals, Rules, & Policies
The following policies must be adhered to when requesting use of city park facilities at Harris Shoals Park and Rocket Field:

Request for Facility Usage (see also Fee Schedule). Note: The City of Watkinsville has a contract with The Yard @ Wire Park to be the point of contact and in charge of scheduling events at Rocket Field. Interested parties should call 706-401-9612 for more information.

In addition, the City of Watkinsville has established the following Park Rules & Regulations for all users of our facilities:
Use of park permitted during authorized operational hours only.
Children under 12 must be under adult supervision at all times.
Pets must remain on a leash and under control at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up their pet’s waste.
Litter must be disposed of properly in trash receptacles; do not put litter in recycling bins or dog waste stations.
Vehicle traffic permitted in designated areas only. Park only in designated paved or gravel spaces.
Usage of bicycles, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, hoverboards, and other similar items not permitted in locations that have vehicular traffic or in spectator areas. They are permitted on paved pedestrian walking trails. Riders should yield to pedestrians.
Park Department or its contractor is responsible for turning sports field lights on and off.
Field and facility rentals are available; however, reservations must be made in advance.
No rental request shall be granted that is not under the direct supervision of an adult.
Renter shall not demonstrate discrimination in regards to race, age, religion, sex, nationality, political belief, or affiliation, veteran status or physical ability.
Outside vendors must receive prior approval and pay a vendor fee to be permitted as part of a scheduled event.
Use of any special equipment (tents, inflatables, amplified sound, etc.) must receive prior written approval.
Loud, profane and/or abusive language or conduct is prohibited.
All city park facilities are tobacco free and the use of tobacco and vaping devices is strictly prohibited.
Alcoholic beverages and/or drugs are not permitted on park premises.
No event shall promote and/or advertise tobacco or alcohol related entities.
Glass beverage containers are not permitted on park grounds.
Charcoal grills at the pavilions are available for park users. Coals are to be left in the grill, not placed on the ground or into trash receptacles.
Additional charcoal grills and/or propane grills are not permitted unless person has received prior written approval.
No grills are permitted on pavement and/or asphalt areas.
Overnight camping is not permitted.
Fireworks are prohibited in all the parks.
Items may not be nailed, pinned, taped, or stapled to a shelter, tree, park sign or park structure.
No person shall mark, vandalize, displace or remove any structure, equipment, or other park property.
Hitting, kicking, throwing, or batting balls into fence or building is prohibited.
Private training for pay is not permitted on park property.
The use of public parks for private profit-making business or individual is prohibited, with the exception of city co-sponsored events and/or approved non-profit civic organization fundraising.
Solicitation and/or posting of bills are prohibited on park property. Advertising must be pre-approved.
Failure to comply with Park Rules and Regulations may result in denial of future park usage.
