REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

CITY OF WATKINSVILLE ROAD AND PARKING IMPROVEMENTS TO HARRIS SHOALS PARK  —The removal, repair, and construction of vehicular pathways, parking, and pedestrian pathways and landscaping in accordance with the Master Plan for Harris Shoals Park which is located within the city limits of the City of Watkinsville, Georgia. All work shall be to the Georgia Department of Transportation specifications.

The City of Watkinsville is requesting proposals for the above referenced project.  All interested proposers shall submit a sealed proposal, in duplicate, to the City of Watkinsville, 191 VFW Drive, Watkinsville, Georgia no later than 9:00 a.m. local time, Friday, October 27, 2023.  At that time, all proposals shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all proposals, to evaluate proposals, and to accept any proposal which in its opinion may be for the best interest of the Owner.  Owner has the right to add or delete from the contract once it has been awarded.   Award, if award is made, will be to the most responsive, responsible proposer.

Prior to award of the contract, the successful proposers will be required to submit a construction schedule to the City, demonstrating the proposer's ability to commence and proceed in a timely manner and to enable the City to provide timely public notification of work in the right-of-way and any temporary traffic control or lane closures.

ADDENDUM No. 1 - October 17, 2023

NOTICE TO ALL POTENTIAL RESPONDENTS
The Request for Proposals (RFP) is modified as set forth in this Addendum. The original RFP Documents and any previously issued addenda remain in full force and effect, except as modified by this Addendum, which is hereby made part of the RFP. Respondent shall take this Addendum into consideration when preparing and submitting its Proposal.

ADDENDUM No. 1:
The City of Watkinsville is requesting a proposal from firms interested in the removal, repair, and construction of vehicular pathways and parking, and pedestrian pathways and landscaping in accordance with the Harris Shoals Park Master Plan for Harris Shoals Park, which is located within the city limits of the City of Watkinsville, Georgia.  The paving should be a minimum of 1 ½” compacted thickness.

ADDENDUM No. 2 - October 25, 2023

ADDENDUM No. 2:

The following are answers to questions posed by a vendor:

Question 1: There is not any line items for gab. Where would you like us to put the cost?

Answer 1: This cost may be added to Line Item 0030.

Question 2: There is no line item for handicap signs. Where would you like us to put the cost?

Answer 2: The cost should not include signs. The city will handle.

Question 3: There is no line item for van stencils. Where would you like us to put the cost?

Answer 3: The cost for van stencils should be included with Painted ADA Marking, Line Item 0230.

Question 4:  The unit for the wheelstops is listed as sy. Should it instead be each?

Answer 4: Yes. The units should be "each."

Question 5: Will the park be closed to the public during construction?

Answer 5: Although not yet decided, it most likely will be closed during construction.
